Chorley Markets

Welcome to Chorley Markets – a place where we pride ourselves in our local produce and get together as a community.

After the government’s announcement that outdoor markets can reopen, the Tuesday Street market returned on Tuesday 2 June, with those traders registered as permanent only.
While we’re opening to support traders and the town centre, both traders and visitors have a responsibility to adhere to social distancing me
asures and follow any signage/instructions provided. At busy times one-way circulation may be introduced in the pedestrian zone. We  will be constantly monitoring how it goes and further changes may be required in the coming weeks.

The covered market will be closed except for essential food stalls on the perimeter (which are operating Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday only) until further notice.

Chorley’s popular markets date back to 1948 with the most popular market day being a Tuesday. If you’re visiting Chorley today you will find two main markets; Chorley covered market, which makes up the heart of the town and operates five days a week and Chorley’s Tuesday market, which is located along the streets of Chorley town centre.

Covered Market

Chorley’s Covered Market thrives with local produce including food, drink, materials, fashion and much more. If you fancy taking a break from the shopping then don’t worry, you can do just that at our Covered Market as there are seating areas dotted around the outskirts of the covered market area where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and some scrumptious food.

Every Tuesday, stalls line the streets of Chorley town centre and together with the Covered Market, over 100 stalls sell everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to cosmetics and clothes.
