Crow Lore: Ian Whiteley
A dark folk tale, told in poetry, of life and death and rebirth. A scarecrow stands in a field and dreams of animation and living beyond the end of his natural season. Modern Day Suffragettes: Suffragettes
Our presentation was originally planned as a one-off performance to mark International Women’s Day March 8th 2018 – events that day commemorated 100 years since women won the right to vote. In it we celebrate the brave women, both locally and nationally, whose struggles achieved that victory for all women.

As Christine Knowles, I moved to Chorley when I was 7, and attended Hollinshead Street School until ‘graduating’ to Chorley Grammar School (for seven years). I started writing when I was about 13 or 14. My contribution this year will be mainly poetry – ranging through personal to conservation (with some humour thrown in!)

NHS Staff Welcome to Chorley & South Ribble
The Chorley & South Ribble Hospital Campaign have been campaigning for the last 5 years to save our hospital services. The reasons for threat of cuts to our services has been the lack of qualified staff. This video shows the glories and wonders of the area & sends a warm welcome to all prospective staff.
A Crown of Sonnets: Britt Fairclough
This year, instead of teaching a class on how to write different forms of poetry, I will read some of my own form poetry, with the theme of gothic fairy tales. The readings will illustrate 6 different poetic forms and how to use the ‘story-telling’ method of writing.
The Lost Locket: Allan Marsh
I am 72 years old and during the first lockdown, for a bet, wrote a book about a magical day in our schools’ Forest School. It ended up being published. It’s a story that is about children but can be read by adults. Look out for the 122 hidden song titles in the story. If I can do this so can you.
