A Taste of Chorley
ATOC Intro
A Taste of Chorley returns on Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 June 2023 to once again showcase the great food and drink culture Chorley has to offer.
The event will celebrate food and drink related activities, businesses and products that can be found in Chorley and the surrounding areas, whilst also pointing the way towards a healthier more sustainable future for residents and businesses in Chorley.
Throughout the two days there will be cooking demonstrations, food tasting, advice on healthy eating including on a budget, recipes and cooking tips. There will be a wide range of excellent food to purchase on the day from local producers, whilst visitors will have the opportunity to purchase produce they can take home.
There will once again be competitions for budding cooks and bakers to enter.

Demo Kitchen
Over the two days of A Taste of Chorley there will be demonstrations from local chefs, butchers, and bakers. Come along and hear how to prepare dishes, decorate cakes or get recipes with ingredients that can sourced from Chorley town centre's food and drink stalls and shops.
Come and get a step-by-step guide to making some amazing dishes and pick up some inside tips on cooking them from the experts. You will then have the chance to taste some of the fantastic food once it has been made.
The demonstration kitchen can be found Market Street, where there will also be a seating area for you to view the demonstrations. The schedule for both days will be announced soon.

The Great Chorley Bake Off
The Great Chorley Bake Off takes place on the Saturday (3 June) and you can sign up now!

Entries are free and sign ups will close on Thursday 1 June at 4pm.
The Great Chorley Bake Off Categories
Over 16's & Adult Hobby Bakers/ Professional Bakers Classes
- Chorley Cake: Five Chorley cakes made from shortcrust pastry & dried fruit in a round flattened shape with a partially revealed filling
- Victoria Sponge: A Victoria sandwich cake filled with raspberry jam only
- Sultana Scone: Five sultana scones only, no jam, butter or cream needed
- Vegan Cupcakes: Five showstopping vegan vanilla cupcakes to be decorated with a Coronation theme
- Coronation Quiche: Broad bean, spinach and cheese quiche

- Budget Flapjack: Cheap but definitely cheerful, can be any flavour but must include costings per portion, the cheaper the better
Under 16 Junior Bakers Classes
- Biscuits: Five fabulously decorated shortbread/vanilla biscuits
- Cupcakes: Five fabulously decorated sponge cupcakes
- Celebration Cake Coronation themed celebration cake, any flavour to be judged on taste & design
Rules
- Entries must be made via Skiddle.
- All entries must be brought to the judging area by 10:30am on Saturday 3 June 2022
- Entrants may enter one entry per class.
- Entries must comply with health & food hygiene standards and be safe for sampling by the judges,
- All entries must be baked by the entrant themselves and not made from packet mixes.
- Judging will take place on Saturday 3 June from 11am.
- Winner will be announced at the demonstration theatre at 2pm.
- Prizes must be collected on the day and cannot be posted.
- Entrants must agree to allow photographs taken by the festival photographers to be used for promotional purposes.
- Please ensure you enter the correct email address as we will use this to send you further information, including drop off location.
- If you would like to enter more than one child for the under 16's classes you will have to do this in multiple transactions.

Getting to A Taste of Chorley
By Car
Use junction 8 off the M61 or junction 28 off the M6. Chorley town centre is easily accessed from the A6, which passes directly through Chorley.
Parking
There are lots of car parks in Chorley town centre. Please visit our parking information page for further details.
By Bus
Chorley is well-served by bus routes linking the town centre with surrounding villages. The main bus route is the 125/126, which links Chorley to Preston and Bolton. There are also direct bus routes from Greater Manchester, Merseyside and the Lake District.
By Rail
Chorley is on the main train line between Manchester and Blackpool. If you are travelling on a long distance service you will need to change at Manchester or Preston.
