What's Your Story, Chorley?
Chorley’s brilliant literary event, What’s your story, Chorley? is back across Chorley Town Centre on Saturday 29 March!
Free events for all the family
11am to 4pm across town centre venues.
A jam-packed day of fun for all the family, the event will see:
- Workshops covering journaling, creative writing and publishing
- Spoken word and literary performances
- Readings and book signings with great authors
- Immersive talks from the experts
- Storytimes and sing-alongs as part of its dedicated junior programme

Exciting shows
New for 2025, What’s Your Story Chorley? will also feature two theatre performances of the kid’s favourite, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” and an expert masterclass in comic book art from Kev Sutherland.

Participants take away a photocopied comic book containing a strip made by each group member, a title devised by the group, a designed cover, and an individual caricature.
Flex your poetry skills
Adult Poetry Competition - ‘My World’

Deadline for entries is Monday 10 March 2025
This competition is open for those over the age of 18 who live in the Lancashire area.
- A poem of no more than 30 lines around the theme of ‘My World’ – your view of the world
- Single space, rhyming or unrhyming, any format
- We are looking for serious, humorous and thought-provoking poems
- One entry per person
- The poem should not have been published e.g radio, online, magazine, newspaper
How to enter
Email your poem to events@chorley.gov.uk or post them to Chorley Town Hall, Market Street, Chorley, PR7 1DP with a cover letter that includes your name, age, email, phone number and address.
If you are shortlisted you will have the opportunity to read your poem or have a guest speaker read it out during a session at the What’s Your Story, Chorley? event on Saturday 29 March 2025.
