Entertainers will be in various venues across Chorley town centre from 11am until 4pm on Saturday 23 March. These include:

  • Magical Story Jars - will be creating 3d treasure maps at their Story Mixing Station in the Library bookstack
  • Dom Conlon - Children's Author and Poet of the 'Meet Matilda' series will be performing 'on a journey to the moon' on stage at Chorley Theatre
  • Jen Carney - Puffin book Author-illustrator, Jen Carney will be performing on stage at Chorley Theatre and people will have an opportunity to buy a signed copy of Jen's new book 'The Day My Dog Got Famous'
  • Dedrah Moss - Chorley Flower Show's Floral Art Coordinator will be flower arranging at Chorley Library
  • Katie Zeka - Author of children's book 'Chill Your Beans!' will be using storytelling to help calm children with behavioural management
  • Liz Flanagan - Award-winning children's and young adults author. Her books include the Wildsmith series, the Legends of the Sky series and Eden Summer
  • Ivana Fletcher - Picture book author will be taking you on a fun filled interactive journey with Cyril the Cicada
  • Genevieve Aspinall - Colour in and decorate your own stand up penguin which you can take home with you!
  • Megan Roberts - Convict Tales for adults - a history of transportation as a punishment
  • Lancashire Authors' Association - Poetry, prose and stories written and read by LAA members
  • Rogan Mills - Rabbit stories for children aged 3 -8 Bring along your rabbit ears as audience participation is compulsory
  • Sarah Hunter - A session on creativity and how we think up stories, poems, inventions or anything - tips with how to help if your creativity gets stuck
  • Sharron Howard - A storytelling session from Sharron's book 'Amazing Adventures of Felix the Fearless'
  • Sid Calderbank - Sid's unique presentation on Lancashire's literacy heritage using songs, stories and poems from the library of the Lancashire Authors' Association
  • Susan Brownrigg - Children's book author will be having a workshop session on the day - creating movie storyboard stories
  • Cath Cole - Novelist of 'Home from Home' and 'Everybody Lies' will be discussing why she chooses to set her novels in northern towns
  • Chris Martin - Published author of 'The Great School Detective' series of whodunnit novels. Become one of the suspects in his novel 'The Case of the Caretaker's Key' as Chris presents material to help you work out whodunnit?
  • Sarah Lee - An interactive storytelling of Shakespeare's Macbeth with battles, witches and the odd banquet!
  • Susan Osbourne - A look at everyday life in a Lancashire accent as Susan recites her Lanky Twang verses - life through a northern lens, with nostalgia and humour.
  • The Poetry Relay Team - The Culture Queen, The Brierfield Bard, The Lancashire Lass, Sid Calderbank, The Magical Thinker and Lancsy come together to perform a poetry relay with humour and thought provoking material
  • Tracey Collins - Mrs Stanley will be telling stories and singing songs for children of all ages
  • Chorley Writers' Circle - will be performing poems, stories with pictures for kids and also a session of poems and prose for the adults
  • James Walton - Author of 'Beltin' and 'Every Neet O'Week' will be reading sections of his books and poetry and a Q&A session
  • Jeanette Greaves - will be carrying out a workshop on how to make flash fiction work
  • John Winstanley - John hosts a workshop on 'Why every writer needs a Developmental Editor' and come and see the 'Lancashire Rocks' exhibition at Chorley Library
  • Glyn Shipman - singer songwriter Glyn Shipman will be performing 'Songs from My Kitchen: The Great Apes - Fact and Fiction' at the 1498 covered market
  • Gemma Holgate - Teaching you how to share your story to inspire others. Gemma has grown her own successful wellbeing business
  • Claudia Cortez - Meet Spanish Author Claudia Cortez as she talks about her new book from 'The Three Ladies' saga (a gothic mystery)
  • Mike Wilson - Using songs and lyrics and poems to help people understand mental health issues and how music and poetry can help sustain a person's mental wellbeing
