The Big Switch On
On Sunday 20 November, Chorley’s Christmas celebrations will get underway in style, with a brilliant festive and party atmosphere in the town centre and some fantastic local acts, entertainers and exciting special guests. Plus the Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market will return for another year, taking place on the same day with lots of independent traders and stalls featuring a wide range of delicious food and drink, excellent arts and crafts and fantastic gift stalls and much more!
The Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market starts at 10am until 6pm with entertainment on the Market Street stage starting from 1pm and the big switch on happening at 5pm by special guests, presented by Rock FM’s Joel Ross.
We are delighted to announce that Chorley’s very own boxing superstar, Jack ‘El Gato’ Catterall, will be turning on the Christmas Lights this year. The light-welterweight boxing star is seen in many people’s eyes as the undisputed champion after his controversial defeat to Josh Taylor in February earlier this year, with many pundits and experts stating that Jack had comfortably won the fight.
Jack will be joined by Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Steve Royle who will perform for us and get Chorley’s Christmas celebrations well and truly underway. There will be music and performances from Freddie Mercury tribute act and Suggs tribute act along with local talent on display from Chorley Youth Zone plus local street dance team Minitrons before the traditional countdown and big switch on at 5pm on Market Street Chorley.
Follow the Facebook event page here.
This year’s Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market will also feature free children’s activity stations within the stall zones! More information about Chorley’s Christmas Markets can be found here.
