Chorley Christmas Lights Switch On & Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market

Christmas in Chorley will get underway in style with the Christmas Lights Switch On sponsored by Chorley Eats. With special guests, a fantastic line up of entertainment there’ll be a brilliant festive atmosphere in the town centre, plus, the Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market will return for another year, taking place on the same day with lots of independent traders, entertainment including children's rides and more.

SPECIAL GUESTS: Shane Lynch (of Boyzone), Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden (Boyzlife) will be doing the honours of turning Chorley's Christmas lights on accompanied on stage by players and representatives from Chorley FC to join in the festivities (5pm, Market Street stage).

There's a fantastic line-up of performances on the Market Street stage hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Graham Liver - see the line-up and performance times below.

Schedule:

  • 10am - 6pm – Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market
     
  • 10am - 3pm - Some stalls on Chorley's covered market open (1498 Food and Drink area open until 6pm)
     
  • 1pm - Market Street stage entertainment begins hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Graham Liver:
     
  • 1pm - 1:45pm: Inspire Youth Zone performers
     
  • 2pm - 2:30pm: Red Rosettes Show Chorus
     
  • 2:35pm - 2:55pm: DLN Dance Troupe
     
  • 3pm - 3:30pm: James B Partridge
     
  • 3:30pm - 4pm: Local singer, Lauren Wood
     
  • 4pm - 4:45pm: Young Elton – Elton John Tribute
     
  • 4.45pm - Guest speeches
     
  • 5:00pm - Christmas Lights Switch On
    Shane Lynch (of Boyzone), Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden (Boyzlife), accompanied on stage by players and representatives from Chorley FC to join in the festivities: Andy Preece (Chorley FC Manager), Jamie Vermiglio (Chairman), Matt Urwin (Club Captain), Adam Henley, Joe Nolan and Victor Magpie.

Parking on most town centre car parks is free on Sundays (with the exception of the Flat Iron car park), details of town centre car parks can be found at chorley.gov.uk/carparks 

Market Street will be closed from 6:00am - 10:00pm on Sunday 17 November at the junction from High Street down to the junction with St George's Street. High Street will be closed from the junction at Cleveland Street to the Junction at New Market Street.  Please do not park in these areas overnight on Saturday 16 November.
