Christmas in Chorley will get underway in style with the Christmas Lights Switch On, sponsored by Chorley Eats and Lockdown Kitchen & Bar.

Sunday 16 November - Chorley town centre

With special guests, fantastic entertainment and the Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market there’ll be brilliant festive atmosphere in the town centre.


SPECIAL GUESTS

The Reverend Richard Coles

Vicar, broadcaster, author, and TV personality, the Reverend Richard Coles will be doing the honours of turning Chorley’s Christmas lights on for 2025 at 5pm, joined on stage by representatives from Chorley FC.

This will follow a fantastic line-up of performances on the Market Street stage hosted by Graham Liver from BBC Radio Lancashire.

SCHEDULE

  • 10am - 6pm – Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market
    Over 50 local stalls with gifts, artisan drinks, street food, crafts and more, free childrens facepainting, craft workshops and  an opportunity to meet Santa and the Grinch.
     
  • 10am - 3pm - some of the Perimeter stalls on Chorley’s covered market will be open with the 1498 Food and Drink area open until 6pm.
     
  • 1pm - Entertainment on the Market Street stage begins hosted by Graham Liver from BBC Radio Lancashire:

    1pm to 1:45pm: Chorley Inspire Youth Zone

    2pm to 2:30pm: Singitbig Choir

    2:35pm to 3pm: JSK Dance

    3pm to 3:45pm: Ryan & Craig

    4pm to 4:45pm: Josh Hindle as Bublé

  • 4:45pm -  Interviews with special guests
     
  • 5:00pm - Christmas Lights Switch On – The Reverend Richard Coles, accompanied on stage by representatives from Chorley FC to join in the festivities.

Important event information

  • Road closures: Please be aware that Market Street will be closed from 6:00am - 10:00pm on Sunday 16 November at the junction from High Street down to the junction with St George's Street. High Street will be closed from the junction at Cleveland Street to the Junction at New Market Street. Please do not park in these areas overnight on Saturday 15 November.
     
  • Parking: Parking on most town centre car parks is free on Sundays (with the exception of the Flat Iron car park), details of town centre car parks can be found at chorley.gov.uk/carparks
