Day 2

Head for Chorley town centre

You’ll find plentiful low-cost parking (with some car parks offering free parking periods) plus the bus and train stations are right in the town centre.

The famous markets in the heart of Chorley date back to 1498. You’ll find the fabulous covered market open 4 days per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) jam-packed with fabulous stalls offering everything from clothes and accessories to fresh produce, gifts and more, as well as great places to eat.

On a Tuesday the popular outdoor market lines the streets of the town centre, plus each Saturday you’ll also find a selection of stalls outside the covered market, on Fazakerley Street. The second Saturday of every month it’s the specialist food and craft market.

Chorley Markets is surrounded by many other fabulous independent and unique shops to discover, plus high street brands, cafes, restaurants and bars.

You'll find lots of places to eat in Chorley town centre, including inside the covered market - offering a range of cuisines to eat in or take away.



And if you have time after all that then a visit to the historic Astley Hall, Coach House and Park is a must!

Astley Hall

**Astley Hall is currently closed until April 2026, however there is still plenty to enjoy**.

In the grounds of Astley Hall, you’ll find beautiful walled gardens, the Coach House which is home to the Coach House Gallery often with free exhibitions on display, Café Ambio and the Astley Hall Gift Shop. Across the courtyard, there’s Barrica in the Park your go-to destination for quality drinks, food, gifts and more sourced from local producers and creatives.

The wider park land offers woodland walks, fantastic play areas for a range of ages and more.
