This year’s Chorley Flower Show is set to be the most entertaining yet!

If you’re visiting Chorley Flower Show this year, not only will you see spectacular floral displays, excellent exhibits, expert demonstrations and shopping opportunities that you’ve come to love at the annual show, you can also enjoy more family entertainment and activities than ever before.
Taking place from 25 to 27 July in Astley Park, the show is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with elements of the show reflecting a ‘through the decades’ theme as part of the celebrations.
Fun and music through all the ages
If you’re partial to a boogie, then the dance floor in the ‘The Bloomin’ Big Marquee’ is for you! You can get involved in vintage dance sessions throughout all three days, plus a special catwalk show will take place once a day, showcasing fashions from the ages. Enjoy a raft of brilliant live music from across the decades at the outdoor entertainment stage.
Fantastic children’s entertainment
If you’re planning to bring children to the show, not only do children under age 16 go free with a paying adult, there’ll be a dedicated children’s zone full of family fun, with rides including a traditional vintage carousel, as well as archery, rock climbing, a chance to learn some circus skills, The Kids Party Bus soft play, face painting and more!*
Fabulous special guests
There’ll be no shortage of expert advice with Siobhan Murphy, Jonathan Moseley, Martin and Jill Fish all giving a range of talks and/or demonstrations across the three days and hand tied bouquet workshops delivered by Southport College.
Special guest, JB Gill, who rose to fame as a member of one of the UK’s biggest boybands, JLS, will be at the show on Sunday 27 July, from 11.30am giving a talk, Q&A and reading from one of his books for children, followed by a meet and greet and book signing.
Sharon Hartley, from BBC Radio Lancashire, will be broadcasting her show from Chorley Flower Show on Friday 25 July.
Immerse yourself in Chorley’s rich history
Providing a stunning back drop to the show, the historic Grade I Astley Hall will be open to show visitors, with 400 years of history to discover. Entry is included in the show ticket.
It’s not all about the humans!
Dogs accompanying their owners to the show can also join the fun by having a go at a dog agility course and have their photo taken by a dog photographer – a memento from the show!
If you’ve ever wanted to walk an alpaca, here’s your chance, as Poppywood Alpacas will be at the show (included in the show ticket).
Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Peter Wilson said: “We can’t wait to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Chorley Flower Show, with the firm favourites that people have come to expect from the show, but with also a whole host of new entertainment for all the family to enjoy, it’s set to be an outstanding weekend!
“As part of the anniversary celebrations at the show, you’ll see nods to a ‘through the decades’ theme, such as vintage dancing for visitors to join in with, some of the show gardens will be represent certain decades and this year’s community and school gardens will showcase a decade of the entrant’s choice.
“We’d love for visitors to get involved too by dressing up as their favourite decade for the show!”
