The big switch on

The Christmas magic begun in Chorley town centre on Saturday 18 November with the luminous local tradition that is Chorley’s Christmas lights switch on. The family stage show and event got Chorley’s Christmas celebrations well and truly underway and transformed Chorley town centre in twinkly winter wonderland with delightful displays now lining the streets. There was a brilliant festive atmosphere in town with local bands, choirs and singers performing on the Market Street stage together with special appearances by Chorley boxing sensation and British super lightweight champion, Jack Catterall, the Totally Locally Chorley Elf and Father Christmas before the special guest, Antony Cotton who plays Sean Tully in Coronation Street, took to the stage for the traditional countdown and big switch on. If you haven’t seen Chorley’s Christmas lights yet, take a wander around the town centre in the evening to see the fantastic displays.
